A History of Growth
Money Concepts was founded in 1979 in the United States to meet the growing need for personal financial planning services. In 1984, the late Grant Sylvester, a senior financial services executive, established Money Concepts in Canada. In 1997, after over a decade of successful growth, Grant Sylvester opened ownership in the parent company to individual franchise presidents and employees. Money Concepts is a true team company with franchisees playing a direct role in the success of the parent company, as well as their own franchise. Today, it is Canada’s largest franchised financial planning company and is wholly owned by Investia Financial Services Inc., a subsidiary of Industrial Alliance Insurance & Financial Services Inc.
